On June 15, 2016, HRD Antwerp and SJDA (Shenzen Jewelry Designers Association) have signed a memorandum of understanding which constitutes the organisation of advanced design courses by HRD Antwerp.
HRD Antwerp will organise its advanced 10-day jewellery design course for SJDA three times per year with each course comprising course days in Belgium and course days in Shenzhen, China. For 2016, the first course will start on August 30th in Antwerp. Through this unique exchange programme, Chinese designers will have the opportunity to experience Europe’s cultural heritage and learn all about the latest western jewellery design trends and production techniques. This will undoubtedly provide students with a competitive advantage in addition to valuable new creative perspectives.
“We believe that the advanced jewellery design course is a good match with our strategic goal which is to maximise the value of original design in Mainland China whilst achieving a professional allure and international commercialisation of the Chinese gold & jewellery designers” says Mr Li An Xin. General Secretary SJDA.
“Our education department offers worldwide courses in diamond grading, gemmology as well as contemporary diamond jewellery design on an international platform. We’re therefore very excited about the newfound collaboration with SJDA.” explains Mr. Peter Macken, CEO HRD Antwerp.
SJDA was established in 2013 under the guidance of the Shenzhen Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau and Sports & Tourism Bureau, was the first registered civil organization in gold & jewellery industry of Mainland China, and is the main body for original jewellery designers.
